The FIELD

On land. Whether walking, riding, crawling or other mode of transport, if it takes place on LAND, then the action is said to be, ‘in the field‘. The majority of the Outdoor Heritage Activities take place in the FIELD. Even so the activities found in the field and on the stream are inextricably tied together. Thus, they are distinct, but vital to each other.

The FIELD topics will cover

  • Wilderness Skills
    Orienteering
    Camping
    Hunting
    Archery
    Hiking
    Climbing

and even though they take place in ’solid stream’, the snow activities take place – on solid territory; although sometimes this is on frozen bodies of water. These activities are

  • Skiing
    Dogsledding
    Showshoeing

These are the Outdoor Heritage Activities that are primarily enjoyed in the field; on dry land.
